Harbor Inn Seafood Chalkboards

Ever heard of a Pounce Machine?  I didn't think so. This was a fun project that took me back to my days of working in sign shops during late high school in the Atlanta area and in Athens, GA while I was attending UGA. For these custom chalkboards, I got to order lots of new one shot lettering enamels and some new lettering quills, allowing me to combine two of my loves, illustration and hand lettering. Even got to use a pounce machine, been along time since i did that.

GranNana's Cat with a View

When your Mother-In-Law lives in a beautiful townhouse but without a lot of windows and the side of the neighboring condo the really only view, well what's a good Son-In-Law to do? Yep, create the view of her choosing. She chose Tuscany. I have done a few murals here and there, but this is by far my favorite and although its been on the wall for at least a decade, i really still enjoy looking at every time i go to her house. Actually I think that cat enjoys looking at me.

This is the Day, a mural for Art & Sally

Our friends Art & Sally wanted a mural that might serve as a daily reminder of God's Goodness and Mercy. We landed on Psalms 118:24 and I had fun bringing it to life with this bright and cheery morning greeting that found a spot above their kitchen table. Once they told me the only thing that made it better was a Saturday morning and coffee.

Karin's Kitchen, coffee and cream cabinets

Our good friend Karin redid her kitchen and in lieu of getting all new cabinets, she asked yours truly to faux finish her old ones. Karin and I both like a lot of cream in our coffee. The cabinets kind of took on the look of a coffee with cream, or maybe its more cream with a little coffee. I think I spent the good part of a December and most of a Christmas break over at her house. She had A LOT of cabinets, and doors and shelves. However, it might have had more to do with spending more time coffee drinking than painting.  I remember it was 2006 the year of the Indian Ocean Tsunami - it happened the day after Christmas. I guess that was good enough reason to pause over a cup of coffee with a good friend. Karin has just redone her kitchen again, this time she got herself some real cabinets. Even good coffee gets old :)
